National Gallery of Modern Art (Rome, Nov'19)
I visited the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome during my short visit to Italy in November 2019 and here’s my reaction to what I saw there.
Guilty Shopping (Every time)
Ever felt guilty while shopping? Expected a cashier to start judging your hangover snacks? Ever wondered what would those security ppl think while watching all of your 25min struggles of choosing between frozen chicken nuggets and ready made noodles recorded by that tiny camera? Any other shopping paranoia that you’re proud of?
Old National Gallery (Alte Nationalgalerie, Berlin, Dec'19)
As someone who’s studied art history for several years I’ve often times felt that some terms were over complicated. All the -isms were creeping in from the beginning of any course I was taking and although I’m a nerd who actually loves that kind of stuff, my friends of different from mine backgrounds confessed that all this information surrounding an art piece [which was supposed to help the understanding of it] wasn’t helpful at all and, in fact, confusing. Today I’m breaking down some paintings and sculptures from the Old National Gallery of Berlin with a use of my Universal Art Identifier.
Neues Museum (Berlin, Dec'19)
History leaves us many questions unanswered. What were those dudes drinking, how did they hang out, did they prefer shots or cocktails? What was the dating scene like and why the heck did they like to get mummified? Today’s episode ‘keeping up with the Egyptians’ shows that the mummies can be relatable and those secret messages that they left were nothing more than just normal emojis.
